Heather Ramsey is the co-founder of WAKE. Prior to this she was Senior Director of Strategic Partnerships for the Center for Women’s Leadership Initiatives at IIE. More than 15,000 women across 30 countries through more than 250 local partner organizations directly benefitted from programs created, initiated and led by Heather. Heather has a Master’s in International Policy with a focus on Gender in International Development from the Monterey Institute of International Studies and a Bachelor’s in French and Journalism. She has studied in Cuba, Guatemala, France and Switzerland and worked for a summer in Egypt. Heather lives in San Francisco with her husband and daughters, who inspire her work every day.

Trish Tierney is the cofounder of WAKE. She was Executive Director of the Institute of International Education (IIE) in San Francisco. In her role at IIE, Trish led the growth of the office through partnerships with the U.S. Department of State, major foundations such as the David and Lucile Packard Foundation, and corporate partners such as Adobe, Chevron and Toyota. Trish is especially proud to have founded IIE’s Center for Women’s Leadership Initiatives, deepening IIE’s thought leadership and expanding its program portfolio in this area. She holds a Master’s degree from Johns Hopkins University’s School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS), and a Bachelor’s degree from the University Of Notre Dame. Trish lives in San Francisco with her husband and three children
I’ve committed my heart and energy to amplifying women and girls’ voices for over a decade. I am passionate about enabling pathways for women and girls to determine their own trajectory. I feel grateful to be part of launching Tech2Empower in Ukraine and to take part in this mutual learning.
Donna Sinar is an independent consultant in the gender development sector. As the Resource Mobilization Consultant at Akili Dada, a Kenyan women and girls’ leadership incubator, she drives support – knowledge, financial, and social – to their initiatives. At WAKE Donna supports Tech2Empower’s communications and program impact measurement. At her prior work at The SAGE Project, a survivor-centered trauma recovery center for exploited individuals, she led the anti-trafficking team in building a robust network of resources for survivors. In 2014, she joined Resonate, a Rwandan startup that uses the storytelling framework to unleash leadership and confidence in women and girls. Donna holds a Bachelor's in Sociology from the University of Maryland and a Master’s in Public Administration from the Middlebury Institute of International Studies at Monterey.

Jessie Yu is a program manager with a passion for the development of emerging markets and global communities. Jessie was Program Manager of International Investment & Trade at the Greater Houston Partnership and represented the region as Private Sector Liaison Officer (PSLO) in the World Bank Group’s PSLO Network. The PSLO Network is a network of over 160 business organizations in more than 100 countries, designed to foster trade and investment between countries with the support of World Bank Group products and services. As PSLO, Jessie developed programs and implemented strategies to assist the private sector identify and capture business opportunities in emerging markets. Jessie is supporting WAKE International with program management and in her spare time enjoys being outdoors, reading, exploring and learning about the world.
